Effectiveness of NEM® Brand Eggshell Membrane in the Treatment of Suboptimal Joint Function in Dogs: a Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Study

Subjects: Arthritic dogs

Time Period: 6 weeks

Methodology: 2 groups

• Group 1--No treatment (placebo)
• Group 2--Supplement containing Eggshell Membrane (6 mg per 1 lb body weight)

Findings:

• Group 1 saw little to no improvement in joint pain.
• Group 2 saw significant improvement after 1 week and continued improvement over the life of the study.
• Group 2 also saw improvement in joint cartilage condition after 6 weeks.
