This is a review of 18 studies involving arthritic humans, cats, rats, horses and dogs. Seven of these studies involved only dogs.
Conclusions:
- UC-II substantially contributes to lessening of pain and enhances freedom of movement in moderately arthritic dogs.
- Its beneficial effects are seen when used alone, and in combination with Glucosamine and Chondroitin.
- UC-II’s pain reduction effect is comparable to NSAIDS, but unlike NSAIDS, UC-II is well tolerated over time.
