DON’T BUY A PROPRIETARY BLEND

If the ingredient amounts aren’t on the label, skip it.

We all want to know exactly what we're giving our pups.

Unfortunately, the ingredient list on the jar doesn't always tell the whole story.

Many brands use a "Proprietary Blend" to hide the active ingredient amounts.

The label test

Ingredient names are only half the story.

When a supplement uses a proprietary blend, they might tell you which ingredients they're using. Or they might not.

Either way, they don't show you individual amounts.

This a huge problem. An ingredient might be scientifically proven to provide a benefit at 1,000 mg per serving, but a small fraction of this amount likely won't help your dog at all.

Without the mg number, you can't compare the formula to published research. You can't compare one product to another.

Without the exact amount, you just don't know what you're giving your dog.

That always bothered me.

So when I made LUVAPUP, I made sure every active ingredient amount was right there on the label.

Green Lipped Mussel1,400 mg
Eggshell Membrane450 mg
Boswellia serrata150 mg
UC-II®40 mg

No proprietary blend. No hiding the ball. No guessing.

We deliver all four ingredients in amounts scientifically shown to deliver a benefit. This includes UC-II®. 40 mg is exactly the amount required, no more and no less.

Here’s why the amount matters

More milligrams doesn’t automatically mean a better ingredient.

One of the things that changed how I looked at dog joint supplements was a 150-day, double-blind canine study.

Researchers compared a group receiving 40 mg of UC-II® with a group receiving 2,000 mg glucosamine + 1,600 mg chondroitin.

40 mg
vs.
3,600 mg
Glucosamine & chondroitin (2,000 mg + 1,600 mg)

By Day 150, the UC-II® group showed significant improvement on objective force-plate measurements.

The glucosamine + chondroitin group did not show significant improvement on those objective measurements.

The point isn’t that fewer milligrams are always better.

The point is that a number on a label only means something in context: the ingredient, the form, and the amount used in the research all matter.

Individual dogs vary, and supplements are not a substitute for veterinary care.

Why I care about this

If I’m giving something to my dogs, I want to know exactly what’s in it.

Hi, I’m Graham, founder of LUVAPUP.

My family has had a lot of dogs over the years. Mostly rescues. And like a lot of dog people, we’ve bought our share of hip & joint supplements.

I got tired of labels that made it hard to tell whether an ingredient was there in a serious amount or just there to make the ingredient list look better.

So I built LUVAPUP to cut through the fog. On our label you'll find a short list of purposeful actives, every amount disclosed, and a formula I’d be comfortable giving Cody and Coconut every day.

That’s the whole idea.

You should be skeptical of supplement marketing.

There are a lot of dog supplements with long labels, big promises, and not much information that helps you evaluate what you’re actually buying.

We’re not asking you to take our word for it.

Turn the jar around. Look at the amounts. Look at the ingredients. Read the research. Decide for yourself.

And if you try LUVAPUP and you’re not happy with it, you have 90 days to tell us and get your money back.

That’s how we’d rather earn your trust.
